Professor of Medieval History at the Department of Medieval and Early Modern History of the Institute of Universal History of the RAS.
Vinokurova Marina graduated from Historical faculty of the Ivanovo State University. During 1982-1985 worked as a post-graduate student (supervisor – prof. M.A. Barg) in the Institute of the Universal History of the Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union. She defended her PhD thesis («Agrarian Problem in England on the Eve of the mid- XVII-th Century Revolution») in 1985. During a number of years worked as a senior researcher in the Dept. of Early Modern History. In the 2003 defended her second thesis («The World of the English Manor. On the Manorial Surveys of Lancashire and Wiltshire: second half of the XVI - beginning of the XVII c.»). Nowadays she is a leading researcher of the Dept. of Medieval and Early Modern history and a vice-chair of the Department. She is a member of an Editorial board of the journal «Srednie Veka» as well as of a number of the other scientific editions. M. Vonokurova is an author of two monographs and of many research articles, including encyclopedic ones, devoted to medieval English manor and history of peasantry in England. She is a member of the Academic Council of the Institute.
